Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Yesterday, I was looking at our evergreen trees and saw what appeared to be little balls towards the top of the trees.
I saw them in the bald cypress and the cryptomeria.
On closer inspection of the bald cypress, I found these. The texture was so interesting.
On closer inspection of the cryptomeria
I saw a similar structure, although the texture is very different.
Have you figured out what these are?
Baby pine cones!
This is the first year we are seeing these. This year there have been a lot of firsts!
