Swedish Apple Pie - Truly As Easy As Pie (gluten free)

This is a pie that I've been making since I was a child, which was a long time ago.  It doesn't require any special skill or equipment.  You don't even need a rolling pin.  This is Swedish Apple Pie.
I decided to make this particular one gluten free, so, I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 Baking Flour.  If you don't need to be gluten free, use all purpose flour.
Mix all the dry ingredients together.
Add the chopped nuts and chopped apple.
Mix the egg and vanilla in a small bowl.
Add the egg/vanilla mixture to the other ingredients.
Spread the mixture into a well greased pie pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly and slice.
Enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream.

½ cup gluten free all-purpose flour (or regular flour)
½ cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease 9” pie plate.
  2. Combine dry ingredients.
  3. Add pecans and apples.
  4. Mix egg with vanilla and add to apple mixture.
  5. Spread into prepared pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Beautiful Camellias in Americus Georgia

It is definitely camellia time in Americus, Georgia.
Just a short stroll from the Americus Garden Inn Bed and Breakfast is a treasure trove of beautiful camellias.
I took a photo of every blooming bush.
However, there were many plants still in the bud stage.
So, in a week or two, there will be a whole bunch more to enjoy.
Please allow yourself to simply enjoy a virtual stroll through the flowers.
All of these photos are unedited.
It was warm enough for the bees and wasps to be active.

Hope you enjoyed this virtual camellia tour of Oak Grove Cemetery.  Which one was your favorite?  I promise to share more the next time I take a stroll.

Thanks for visiting the Americus Garden Inn blog.  We hope to see you in person, soon!
