Japanese Maples and Tadpoles
The view from the parking area to the gazebo. Several nights ago the frogs were singing and now we have tadpoles.
Tadpoles are a favorite treat for the koi.

First society garlic bloom of the year.
Pink dogwoods have just arrived.
One of my favorite trees in our garden, the Red Dragon, a Japanese maple.
The Bloodgood maple, another Japanese variety, highlights the gazebo.

The Frogs Arrived in time for Easter
There is nothing quite like the sound of frogs calling out in the night. How many frogs can you find in these photos? There are a lot more than you think.
As the temperatures have risen, the koi have become more active in the pond and they greedily devour frog eggs.

The first knockout rose of the year.

Say Hello to the first dogwoods and azaleas of 2010
The first azaleas have just appeared in the garden. The yoshino cherries are still spectacular!
The canna tropicana is slowly awakening from winter's slumber.

April in Americus Georgia
Squeaky says "Happy April Fool's Day"!
No fooling here, just some photos from the Americus Garden Inn. The curly filbert, the most unusual plant in our garden, is the prettiest without foliage as you can see its truly contorted form.
Jacky is relaxing on the porch.

The extremely warm temperature today has our kitties looking for shade. Moxie is perfectly camouflaged under the wax myrtles.Kitten is basking in the shade.
Doesn't the gazebo look inviting through the cherry blossoms?
The iris are popping up all over Americus.
